Asim Tarafder is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, technology leader, digital transformation strategist, public speaker, author, poet, and reciter. He is the Founder & CEO of InfiniteX BD TRADE, a technology company delivering software solutions, web development, digital transformation, and business innovation services. He is also the founder of bdtradeinfo.com, the largest business portal of Bangladesh, connecting entrepreneurs, manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, importers, service providers, and buyers through a trusted digital platform.
With over two decades of experience in information technology, digital business, human resources, and entrepreneurship, Asim helps businesses embrace technology and drive digital transformation through innovative solutions and strategic leadership. His leadership has contributed to the growth of Bangladesh's digital and ICT ecosystem through innovative technology initiatives. In recognition of his contributions to the industry, he received the 20th Bangladesh Business Excellence Award (2022).
Born in Manikganj, Bangladesh, in 1974, Asim completed his MBA in Marketing from the Islamic University Chittagong in 2000. Between 1997 and 2000, he completed several professional training programs in computer operations, networking, graphic design, web development, and software programming. During the same period, he earned two internationally recognized certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW). In 2024, he successfully completed the CXO Strategy Conclave at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, further strengthening his executive leadership and strategic management expertise.
Asim began his professional career in customer service at White House Hotel in 1995. In 1997, he joined Sheltech, one of Bangladesh's leading real estate companies, where he served in the Human Resources Department while also leading the company's IT Division. He launched his entrepreneurial journey in 2000 by establishing his first technology venture. On 5 February 2003, he launched the business portal bdtradeinfo.com. Today, through InfiniteX BD TRADE, he continues his entrepreneurial journey by delivering technology-driven business solutions and supporting digital transformation.
Asim Tarafder is an active Rotarian who has served in several leadership roles within Rotary International, including President of the Rotary Club of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar (2017–18), Assistant Governor (2020–21), and Deputy Governor (2021–22) of District 3281. He was appointed Deputy Learning Facilitator of Rotary District 3284 (2022–23) and currently serves as Co-coordinator (2025–27) of the District Training Team, Rotary District 64. He has been a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) of Rotary International since 2019 and is also associated with several social and cultural organizations.
Asim is actively involved in mentoring and evaluating emerging innovators through national and international technology and entrepreneurship initiatives. As a mentor and judge at programs including the NASA Space Apps Challenge, CloudCamp Bangladesh AI BuildFest, and the Entrepreneurship Fair at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, he supports the development of innovative ideas, AI-driven solutions, and the next generation of entrepreneurial talent.
He is also a frequent speaker at seminars, workshops, conferences, and corporate events on topics including digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), business strategy, entrepreneurship, human resources, leadership, communication, career development, and soft skills. Asim is one of the three authors of HR Manual for IT Companies, developed for members of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). Through his writing and public speaking, he continues to inspire professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs while promoting innovation, leadership, and lifelong learning.
